The Scholarship Program, which was set up in memory of Cathy L. Miller, a perishable foods expert who created and managed sales campaigns for pizza, meats, salads, soups, and Mexican foods. Cathy died of a heart attack December 19, 1998. She was a director of the Deli Council of Northern California for her last two years. More about Cathy Miller.
Perishable Foods Council Scholarships/Grants program
The Perishable Foods Council will be awarding two $2,000 scholarships each year. You only need to be a member or have a family member in the Perishable Foods Council*. The applicants will be asked for an essay on a predetermined subject, along with a personal profile essay, transcripts and reference letters.
Additionally, six grants of $1,000 each are available for those who show a financial need. You also need to be a member or have a family member in the Perishable Foods Council*. The applicants will be asked for an essay, "what this grant would mean to me," along with reference letters. These will also be awarded once a year.
